The Attuvela Mahotsavam at Elamkavu Bhagavathy temple offers you a rare visual treat of finely decked and brightly illuminated canoes carrying a replica of the temple sailing down the waters accompanied by hordes of colourfully decorated small canoes and temple percussion music. This, it is believed, is the welcome ceremony for the Goddess of Kodungalloor who visits her sister, the Goddess of Elamkavu. The procession of canoes starts from Attuvela Kadavu, 2 km away from the temple.
